|Cancer|| (a) Includes Malignant tumor, Leukemia, Lymphoma and Sarcoma
(b) Cancer which spreads and can lead to death. The same is confirmed by biopsy. Examples are breast cancer, mouth cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, etc.
(c) Blood cancer and cancer on lymph nodes(eg. Hodgkins Lymphoma,etc.
(a) cancer which is spreading variety but has been detected in early stage when same has not spread and is curable by either surgery of medications
(b) Any skin cancer other than invasive malignant melanoma
(c) Thyroid cancer and size should be greater than 1 cm
(d) blood cancer, stage as confirmed by tests
(e) microscopic cancer of urinary bladder
(f) any tumor which is directly caused due to HIV/AIDS
|End Stage Renal Failure||Chronic kidney failure on dialysis or where kidney transplant has been done|
|Multiple Sclerosis||(a) current clinical impairment of motor or sensory function for a continuous period of at least 6 months
(b) causes of neurological damage such as SLE and HIV are excluded
|Benign Brain Tumour||(a) Growth in the brain
(b) which is life threatening
(c) causes damage to the brain
(d) should have caused weakness on hands or leg or both, not only sensation loss or vision loss, headache
(e) MRI or CT Scan, confirmed by specialist doctor for brain
(C) Artery problems
(D) Deposits in brain
(E) Cancer of the brain covering
(F) Organ inside the brain or spinal cord
(G) Cancer of nerve of ear
|Total Blindness||Total and irreversible loss of sight in both eyes as a result of Illness or Accident. The blindness must be confirmed by an ophthalmologist.|
|Motor Neurone Disorder||(a) congenital problem leading to progressive weakness of muscles of both upper and lower limbs
(b) diagnosed by a specialist Medical Practitioner
(c) Significant and permanent functional neurological impairment for a continuous period of at least 3 months.
|End Stage Lung Disease||Failure of lungs leading to breathing problems
Confirmed by PFT test
(a) Requiring permanent oxygen therapy
(b) breathless even while sitting/lying
|Major Organ Transplant||(a) undergoing of a transplant has to be confirmed by a specialist Medical Practitioner.
(b) The following are excluded:
(A) Other stem-cell transplants;
(B) Where only islets of langerhans are transplanted.
|Heart Valve Replacement||(a) actual undergoing of open-heart valve surgery
(b) Catheter based techniques including but not limited to, balloon valvotomy/valvuloplasty is excluded
|Coronary Artery Bypass Graft||(a) open heart bypass surgery
(II) The following are excluded:
(A) Angioplasty and / or any other intra-arterial procedures;(Stent surgery)
(B) Any key-hole or laser surgery
|Stroke||(a) Paralysis partial or complete
(b) Brain hemorrhage/clot
(c) permanent paralysis of limbs
(d) temporary giddiness/loss of consciousness,etc
(e) brain hemorrhage/clot affecting eyes or ear alone
(f) Traumatic injury of the brain
|Paralysis||Total and irreversible loss of use of two or more limbs|
|Myocardial Infarction||(a) this means Heart Attack
(II) The following conditions are excluded:
(A) Specific ECG changes not covered
(B) any other heart related problems other than heart attack
(C) condition where chest pain is there but no permanent changes in ECG and is stage before heart
|Major Burns||(I) Third degree (full thickness of the skin) burns covering at least 20% of the surface of the Insured Person’s body. The condition should be confirmed by a consultant physician.
(II) Burns arising due to self-infliction are excluded.
|Coma||(I) A state of unconsciousness with no reaction or response to external stimuli or internal needs. This diagnosis must be supported by evidence of all of the following:
(A) No response to external stimuli continuously for at least 96 hours;
(B) Life support measures are necessary to sustain life;
(C) Permanent neurological deficit which must be assessed at least 30 days after the onset of the coma.
(II) The condition has to be confirmed by a specialist Medical Practitioner. Coma resulting directly from alcohol or drug abuse is excluded.
